In July, Rapp & Krock, PC committed to be a member of The Equal Access to Justice Champions Program which helps connect cases from the Houston Volunteer Lawyers with pro bono volunteers. By becoming an Equal Access Champion, the firm agrees to take on a certain number of pro bono cases through HVL, whose mission is to provide free legal services to low-income individuals in the Houston area.

Attorney Alex Weatherford played defenseman for Houston’s Sled Hockey Team in The Hendrickson Foundation’s Hockey Tournament. The team played four games and won two earning them a spot in fifth place in the A division. Alex scored two goals and was named Player of the Game in game four. They will be continuing on to compete in the U.S.A National Disabled Hockey Festival in April.

The team dressed in space cowboys theme to compliment Alex’s “Space City Chili”. Kieran entered a salted caramel apple pie which won first place. All proceeds went to funding scholarships for local law students.
