Senior Attorney - Bankruptcy

Rapp & Krock, PC is seeking a Texas attorney with 10+ years of experience in bankruptcy and creditor rights. Candidates should possess significant knowledge of and experience with Title 11, bankruptcy procedure, and bankruptcy courts. Must be able to advise clients and the Firm’s other attorneys on issues that come up in such matters. Candidates should also have portable business and the skills and experience to develop new clients in this area in connection with the Firm’s existing attorneys and with the support of the Firm. You will lead this practice area and work with the head of Litigation to develop this practice with the support of management and firm resources.

Key Functions:

  • Manage and oversee bankruptcy/creditors rights docket
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff to ensure cohesive and effective matter management
  • Work with firm management, other firm attorneys, and business development personnel to develop and execute a practice group and individual business development plan
  • Take an active role in the accurate and timely fee tracking and billing procedures, ensure compliance with billing guidelines, and address any discrepancies or billing issues promptly to maintain client satisfaction
  • Generate new billable work for the attorneys in the practice group, and for the other practice groups of the firm

 

Education and Experience:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a licensed attorney handling bankruptcy matters
  •  

Qualifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, research and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a collaborative approach to client and team interactions
  • Competence in developing effective strategies and identifying key legal issues
  • Ability to think creatively, use good judgment and decision-making, and operate with accuracy and integrity
  • Works well under pressure with flexibility to changing work priorities, workflow, and work assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Established technology-driven work ethic
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their objectives and providing tailored legal advice
  • Maintain a positive, respectful environment that embraces diverse perspectives and needs among clients, team members, and community
  • Demonstrated ability to generate work and projects for themselves and for others.
  • Desire and experience in managing legal matters being conducted by other attorneys, including mentoring and managing younger attorneys
